Somnium {Masterpost}
Mar. 22nd, 2012 03:48 pmTitle: Somnium
Author:
afterandalasia
Rating: Teen/PG-13
Word Count: 30,000
Fandoms: Aladdin, Enchanted, Mulan, Sleeping Beauty
Summary: Aurora awoke to a different sort of nightmare. Giselle fell a long way through that magical portal. And Mulan is believed dead or a traitor by the Kingdom that she saved. In each other they have found a sanctuary, and a shared purpose. When news comes of trouble brewing in the land of Agrabah far to the south, they respond as can only seem just, but the darkness runs deeper than it may seem and the danger greater than they could have anticipated.
Warnings/Content: References to non-con (Jafar/Jasmine), imprisonment, violence, gore, character death. Dark themes throughout. Corruption of fairy tales.
Author's Notes: Written for
cartoonbigbang and with reference to this wonderful prompt by
ari_griffin at
disney_kink. My eternal thanks to
krissielee for doing an amazing job of beta-ing this beast, and getting it looking presentable. Art is my own, made from images from Disney Screencaps.
Beast is the only real word for this story. I started writing and it just spiralled out of control, although I am pleased with the end result. It's quite dark, and involved, but I hope that it has worked well. As well as the fandoms mentioned above, there are references to Snow White, Peter Pan and Fantasia buried within this, and Mulan's part of the story owes some influence to the Twisted Disney Princesses art series. There are a few non-English phrases in this; for any inaccuracies, I can only apologise. Please do take the warnings into account when reading, though I do promise a happy ending.
